Proverbs 10   (July 3)

                                           Bigger than the Universe

            “…but love covers all offenses.”

Two children were arguing about who loved their father more.

“I love my father like this!” Simon said, stretching his arms wide.

“And I love him bigger than this house!” Javier responded, not wanting to be outdone by the other boy.

Simon continued, “I love him as big as the world!”

Javier paused for a moment to think, and then said triumphantly:

“Oh yeah, I love him more than all the Universe!”

No one can doubt that those two children loved their father.

No one argues that a good mother loves her children with devotion. However, all the love in the world does not amount to much, when we compare it with the love God has for his children.

God is love, and his love covers all our faults, sins and mistakes. His love is always there, even when we sin and drift away from Him. He loved us, even before the universe was created, or as Ephesians 1:3-5 puts it:

“Blessed be the God… who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly place, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will”

Aren’t you glad that God loves, and forgives us? Isn’t your soul filled with joy, when you remember that the love of God is greater than the Universe?
