Psalms 98-101     (June 1)

                                                     Be Careful Little Eyes….

“I will not set before my eyes anything that is base.”

“Be careful little eyes what you see,

Be careful little eyes what you see,

                            For the Father up above

                            Is looking down with love,

Oh, be careful little eyes what you see.”

This “children’s” song gives us such great advice! Our eyes are the window of the soul, or as the Scripture say, “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your body will be full of light…” (Matthew 6:22).

How pure are your eyes? What do your eyes see on a daily basis?

The children of God are different from the children of this world.   The eyes of Christians should be kept pure and away from evil. This is easier said than done, for there are many temptations and they “dance” constantly in front of our eyes.

Even the believers are tempted, and in many different ways— the majority of the temptations come in through our eyes. Magazines, movies, television, commercials, the way people dress (or don’t dress!) and even when we go to family outings to the beach, etc.

All these temptations are strong and very difficult to resist. For this reason, we need all the strength from God, to be able to be victorious over sin. Let us make the decision today, to keep ourselves pure for Christ. Let us make the decision today, not to contaminate our eyes with all the junk of this world. Let us make the decision today, to fix our eyes on heaven, from where our Lord and Savior will one day come.
