2 Chronicles 7 (January 7)

                                                                     Poor yet Rich

            “If my people…humble themselves”

God desires to bless his people.  He has given us his Son and with Him, all things.  The Lord has not yet shut up the heavens for the Church of Christ. This does not mean that God has promised riches and well being for all Christians.  Among the children of God, there are some who are rich, and many who are poor, but God loves them all.

The Bible declares that, “…God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 4:19).  Paul wrote this, to let us know that God has promised to meet all our needs.

We as Christians can all be rich, if we so desire. From that joyful moment in which Christ saved us and came to live within us, we are more than millionaires.  The salvation we possess is priceless, and all the riches in the world couldn’t purchase it.

Did you know that God has countless spiritual blessings for His children?

The heavens are just waiting to open up and pour out love, joy, boldness, perseverance, wisdom, holiness, self-control, respect, honor, and much, much more.  If this is the case, then why is there an abundance of spiritual poverty among believers?

The reason is that the people of God do not humble themselves enough, do not pray enough, do not seek the face of God, nor do they turn from their wicked ways.  That is why we are spiritually poor before the Lord.

However if you and I humble ourselves, Christ will make us rich with all grace, and with all the spiritual gifts we will ever need. If you believe that this is true, I encourage, no, I plead with you to humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up.
