The Hope of the World
“…but even now there is hope for Israel”
God loved the people of Israel and that is the only reason why He chose them. He still loves Israel and has a wonderful plan for the remnant of this nation in the future. Even though they rejected his Son Jesus Christ as their Messiah, God does not reject them and he still protects them with love.
Nowadays Israel finds itself surrounded by enemies. The world hates the people of Israel, and only some selected countries still (partially) supports them. The anti-Semitism is growing again all over the world, including in Europe and in parts of America.
But Israel possesses an unknown hope that many Jews are not aware of. Jesus will come one day and will show his wounds to the Hebrews (Zechariah 13:6). A remnant of Jews will believe and Israel will again be the people of God.
“Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the children of Israel
be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved.” (Romans 9:27)
Paul reiterates this same point a few chapters later,
“Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according
to the election of grace.” (Romans 11:5)
In Christ there is always hope, for Israel, for you and for me.
My mother would say to me, “The last thing that you lose in life is hope”.
And I say:
In Christ you will never lose it, because 1 Corinthians 13:13 declares that:
“…now abide faith, hope, love…” (Emphasis mine)
