“Selfless Love”
“What shall I do for you?”
John F. Kennedy said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”
A dear pastor told me a long time ago, “Ask not what your church can do for you, but what you can do for your church!”
I say to you today, “Ask not what others can do for you, but what you (and I) can do for others.”
True love is caring more for others and their needs than for our needs and desires. The one who loves others with the love of Christ is a channel of blessings and servant of humanity.
It would be good if every day we would ask ourselves the following questions:
“How can honor my God throughout the day?”
“What can I do for others today?”
Every time we walk in a store, we hear the clerks asking us if they can help us in any way. Perhaps salespeople do want to help, but most of them simply want to “help” us take money out of our wallets and into their bank accounts. This is not real help. Real help is the one we give to someone that cannot repay us or in some cases, that don’t even know that we are helping them
Let us set aside our constant self-preoccupation and begin to think more about others. Selfishness is powerful, but love conquers all.
