Chronicles 20 (January 20)

                                                                                   Tranquility

“…stand still and see the victory of the Lord.”

Good morning!  Allow me to start your day with a few questions.

Are you a peaceful person, or a quarrelsome type of person?  Do you go into frenzy in the midst of a problem, or do you have peace regardless of your circumstances?  Do you trust that the Lord is powerful enough to solve whatever problem you might have, and kind enough to meet your every need?

If we’re honest, we will admit that we are not always strong in the faith.  Sometimes we are fainthearted, discouraged and lack faith.  When this happens, doubt begins to wrap itself around us like a Python snake.

Then, to make things worse, we are surrounded by enemies and surrounded by problems.  Anxiously, we ask ourselves:

            Should we fight against them?

            Can we beat them?

What is it that God wants me to do?

            God responds by saying:

“They will fight against you, but will not overcome, for I am with you…” (Jeremiah 1:19).

“It is mine to avenge; I will repay says the Lord” (Romans 12:19).

“Stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you” (2 Chronicles 20:17).

We are children of God and Jesus lives in our hearts.  We have been reconciled with God and one day He will take us up to glory.  Until that day comes, God again says, “Stand firm, and be still.”
