The Stars and the STAR
“He built for all the host of heaven…”
Astrology and sun worship are as old as creation. The early Babylonians, under the leadership of the evil Nimrod, developed this “science,” which later extended throughout the Fertile Crescent all the way to Canaan.
The Israelites were disobedient to God and did not drive out all the neighboring kingdoms. Consequently, the pagans who remained alive became increasingly stronger with time and eventually attacked Israel.
The Philistine armies and guerrillas invaded the land of Israel several times. Other kingdoms invaded the holy land with their idolatry and false religions. Soon the Israelites were seduced to worship bulls, serpents, abominable idols and all the host of heaven (astrology).
A true Christian must reject astrology and the horoscope. This is a pagan practice that our Holy Father has forbidden (Leviticus 19:26) and those who follow it will suffer eternal damnation (Isaiah 47:12-14). Carman puts it well when he sings that,
“Astrology won’t save you /your horoscope won’t save you
The Bible says these things are all a farce
If you are born again, you don’t need to look at the stars
Because you can look to the very One who made the stars.”
I adore Jesus, the Creator and Savior of my soul. The stars are pretty, but only God deserves honor, glory and worship. One day I will worship Jesus, the Morning Star … beyond the stars.
